Patagonia

Visiting the dramatic peaks of the southern Andes in Argentina and Chile had been a long time dream of mine. Although the weather lived up to it's reputation of wild and windy, it made for some dramatic photo opportunities. Thank you to my wife for toughing it out in freezing cold conditions and thank you to our gracious and talented guide Marco Grassi.

Fitz Roy - Little Did We Know...
Gorgeous Autumn colours surround and frame the waterfall that leads our eyes up to the dramatic peaks of Mount Fitz Roy. Little did we know that two days after this beauitful, calm autumnal evening we would wake up to freezing temperatures and 4 inches of snow on our tent :)

Patagonia - Winter Is Coming
After a very cold night in our tent, we awoke to blowing snow and near white-out conditions. Our initial disappointment at not being able to see the magnificent Fitz Roy slowly gave way to excitement as we began to explore the winter wonderland with our cameras. The blowing wet snow had covered the sides of the trees like someone had blown spray-foam insulation over them.
